Applications:
The Microcomputer-Controlled Air Permeability Tester is primarily used to measure the air permeability of paper, cardboard, mica tape, cigarette paper, battery separators, and other sheet-like materials. This instrument is a fully automated device controlled by a single-chip microcomputer. Its testing methods comply with the requirements of various standards, including Schober, Bentsen, and Gurley. It is a state-of-the-art instrument for testing paper air permeability in the domestic papermaking, packaging, and cigarette industries, and its performance meets international standards.
Principle of Operation:
Designed based on the principle of the differential pressure method, the test is conducted by placing a pre-treated sample between the upper and lower measuring surfaces. A constant pressure difference is established across the sample. Under the influence of this pressure difference, gas flows from the high-pressure side through the sample to the low-pressure side. The air permeability of the sample is calculated based on the cross-sectional area of the sample, the pressure difference, and the flow rate. Under specified conditions, it represents the average air flow rate passing through a unit area of paper per unit time and per unit pressure difference, expressed in micrometers per Pascal [1 μm/(Pa·s)] = 1 mL/(m²·Pa·s).
standard:
GB/T458、ISO5636/2、QB/T1667、GB/T22819、GB/T23227、ISO2965、YC/T172、GB/T12655、ISO5636/3、ISO5636/5、GB/T20042.7-2014、GB/T36363-2018
Key Performance Advantages:
① The instrument’s chips and sensors are all imported from the United States, ensuring accurate, repeatable, and highly precise test results.
② Sophisticated design: The instrument utilizes microcomputer technology, making the testing process fully automated, fast, and accurate. Results are displayed on a touchscreen LCD, and the device features data recording and processing capabilities, as well as a printer output.
③ Superior performance: Compared to traditional air permeability testers, this instrument offers significant advantages. For papers with low air permeability, a higher pressure differential can be set, while for papers with high air permeability, a lower pressure differential can be set, allowing for easy and accurate measurement of results.
④ User-Friendly and Highly Automated: Traditional air permeability testers are not only slow but also labor-intensive. In contrast, this air permeability tester operates automatically and quickly, ensuring the accuracy of test results. Issues such as operator error or low reproducibility of test results—which often stem from poor instrument design and manufacturing—are effectively eliminated in this model.
⑤ Wide Range of Applications: This instrument is available in three models (Type A, Type B, and Type C), with measurement ranges covering all paper air permeability tests. Type A is commonly used for packaging and cultural papers (such as paper bag stock, filter paper, and thermal paper); Type B is commonly used for papers in the tobacco industry (such as cigarette paper, joining paper, and striped paper); and Type C is commonly used for perforated papers (such as molded paper and tea filter paper).
Scope of Application:
Determination of air permeability/air permeability of materials such as paper, kraft paper, cement bag paper, paper bag paper, cable paper, carbon paper, industrial filter paper, fuel cell carbon paper and bipolar plate materials, cigarette paper, decorative paper, battery separators, mica paper tape, and others.
