Application:
The paper tearing strength tester, also known as the paper and cardboard tearing strength tester, is used to detect the tearing strength of paper materials by tearing a certain number of pre cut edges. It complies with the relevant provisions of ISO1974 "Paper - Determination of Tear Strength (Elmendorf Method)" and GB455.1 "Determination of Paper Tear Strength" standards, and is suitable for measuring the tearing strength of various types of paper. It can also be used for testing the tear resistance of lower strength cardboard, textiles, leather, film and other sheet composite materials.
Test Principle:
A stack of samples with a predetermined pre cut (usually 4 layers), the pendulum is raised to a certain height to have a certain potential energy. When the pendulum swings freely, its stored energy is used to tear the sample a fixed distance. The potential energy loss of the pendulum is used to measure the work done during the tearing process of the sample.
