Introduction to the Tear Tester:
The Paper Tear Strength Tester is a specialized instrument for determining the tear strength of paper (or paperboard). As a mechatronic product, it is designed using ergonomic principles and microprocessor technology. This tear strength tester features functions for testing, displaying, storing, analyzing, and printing various parameters, providing scientific analytical data specifically for paper tear strength testing. It is suitable for determining the tear strength of various types of paper and can also be used to measure the tear strength of lower-strength paperboard. It is an ideal testing instrument for industries and departments such as papermaking, scientific research, and product quality supervision and inspection.
Complies with standards:
Its key technical specifications and performance parameters comply with the relevant provisions of standards such as ISO 1974, “Paper (board)—Determination of tear strength (Eli-Mendolf method),” and GB 455.1, “Determination of tear strength of paper (board),”
Test Principle:
A stack of test specimens (typically four layers) with predetermined pre-cuts is used. The pendulum is raised to a certain height to store potential energy. When the pendulum swings freely, it uses its stored energy to tear the specimens apart by a fixed distance. The work done during the tearing process is measured based on the loss of the pendulum’s potential energy.
Core Technical Advantages:
- High testing accuracy and excellent stability;
- Automatic pendulum release for high testing efficiency;
- Chinese menu interface with multiple operation prompts for intuitive and convenient use;
- Ability to freely view and delete invalid test records;
- Built-in mini printer with high-speed, clear printing;
- Real-time display of angle changes during the test;
- Automatic calculation, statistical analysis, and printing of test results;
Scope of Application:
Paper: Tear testing is suitable for determining the tear strength of materials such as base paper, printing paper, and paper tubes.
Fiber Materials: Tear testing is suitable for determining the tear strength of materials such as glass fiber and carbon fiber.
Films: Tear testing is suitable for determining the tear strength of materials such as optical films, composite films, superconducting films, and insulating diaphragm materials.
Other Materials: Tear testing is suitable for testing the tear strength of non-woven fabrics, textiles, leather, and other composite materials
