Applications of Wire Stiffness Testers:
The ZY-XCTD500 Wire Bending Stiffness Tester (also known as a wire hardness tester or bending stiffness tester) allows users to set the specimen orientation (longitudinal or transverse), tensile force, test speed, and bending angle according to test requirements. It is used to evaluate the resistance to bending deformation (stiffness) and the springback force of linear materials such as wires, cables, metal wires, and flat cables.
How It Works:
Under specified conditions, measure the force or torque required to bend a specimen clamped at one end to an angle of 15 degrees, expressed in gf·cm (mN). If the specimen is too stiff or breaks when bent to 15 degrees, the specimen may be bent to an angle of 7.5 degrees; the measured result may then be multiplied by 2 to obtain an approximate value, but this must be noted in the report.
Product Features:
- A new-generation eco-smart operating system enhances the instrument’s response speed and ensures fast, accurate data calculation.
- 7.5° and 15° stiffness testing (unidirectional test angle adjustable from 1° to 30°; any angle between these values can be set).
- Test angle changes are fully automatically controlled by a motor, improving testing efficiency.
- Adjustable test duration
- Automatic reset and overload protection
- Features measurement statistics and printing functions, facilitating test operations and data review for users;
Main Applications of Wire Stiffness Testers:
Wire and Cable Industry:
Testing the flexibility of power cords, data cables, and electronic wires to ensure easy routing and a comfortable feel.
Controlling the stiffness of high-voltage cables and robotics cables to ensure resistance to bending and fatigue life.
Electronics / Automotive Industry:
Testing the toughness of mobile phone flex cables, FPCs (flexible printed circuits), and enameled wires to prevent breakage during assembly.
Mandatory quality inspection items for new energy vehicle wiring harnesses and aviation wires to ensure safety and longevity.
Metal Wires:
Stiffness testing of metal wires, welding wires, and copper/aluminum wires for incoming material inspection and process optimization.
